I’ve been nominated by the gorgeous fashionista at the Small Town Blogger blog for a very interesting challenge: I need to put up a quote every day for the next 3 days!
If you follow me on Instagram, you will already know my love for quotes! I therefore took up this challenge gladly, and best of all I get to share the love and nominate 3 other bloggers each day – double yay! Here goes my Quote #1:
I love Khaled Hosseini’s storytelling style. He manages to turn a simple narrative into a poignant reflection on life itself and the quote above from his best-selling novel ‘The Kite Runner‘ is a perfect example.
The sour apples quote comes from one of the novel’s main protagonists; Sohrab, the traumatized little boy who grows up speaking fewer and fewer words. When asked if he would move to America, Sohrab says it is like ‘sour apples’, and that he can wait for when the time is right in Islamabad.
Sour apples stands for the virtue of patience. This beautifully concise little story teaches us about the power of positive thinking, and that only the best comes to those who wait. When the time is ‘ripe’, it will all fall in place.
Rules:
- Post 3 of your favorite quotes each per day for 3 recurrent days. The quotes can be of any other people or it may come straight from your own heart.
- Nominate 3 bloggers with each post to challenge them.
- Don’t forget to utter a thankful word to the person who nominated you.
